The center has one of the largest service-delivery areas, covering more than 400 square miles, and a fleet of 20 vehicles. High gas prices have stretched the budget. Donations can be mailed or dropped off at the center, 22900 Market St., Newhall, CA 91321. Checks should be made payable to SCVSC Annual Campaign. NEWHALL – The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center’s annual campaign, 10 Bucks to a Better Future, kicks off today and will continue through February. Organizers are asking every resident of the area to contribute $10 toward the general operating expenses of the center, which provides services to more than 35,000 people in Santa Clarita, Stevenson Ranch, Castaic and Agua Dulce. Adults over 40 have been the majority in America since 1989, and as these baby boomers age, the senior center wants to be prepared to meet their needs. Senior Center participation grew 14 percent in 2004, with more seniors needing services. 160Want local news?Sign up for the Localist and stay informed Something went wrong.
