Kolkata: P. C. Sharma, from the 1981 batch of Indian Railways Stores Service (IRSS), took over as general manager, Eastern Railway, on Thursday in addition to his present posting as general manager, Metro Railway.In 1983, Sharma started his career in North East Railway, Gorakhpur. He has worked as chief materials manager at Rail coach Factory in Kapurthala, Railway Electrification in Allahabad, Northern Railway in Baroda House and as executive director in Railway board from 1986 to 2013. He has worked as divisional railway manager in Nanded from 2013 to 2015. Prior to his posting as general manager, Metro Railway, he worked as principal chief materials manager, western railway in Mumbai. Sharma has also undergone specialised training in technological upgradation of rolling stock in Germany and Austria in 2008 & Advanced Leadership Programme at CMU, Pittsburgh, USA in 2017.
