VALENCIA – A Hawaii-based developer plans its fifth Santa Clarita project, a retail center anchored by a specialty grocery at McBean Parkway and Newhall Ranch Road. A&B Properties Inc. will partner with local construction company Intertex Properties to develop the 120,600-square-foot Bridgeport Marketplace. The center is planned on about 15 acres, roughly half of the acreage purchased last week for $6.6 million from The Newhall Land and Farming Company. Five acres of the parcel will be dedicated to the city of Santa Clarita for parkland and the balance will be sold to a third party. Construction is expected to begin early next year on the $36 million center with plans for the grocery store, a national drugstore, shops and restaurants. Grubb & Ellis has been hired to pre-lease the center. last_img
